"Mixed results some good some kinda OK"

On one deal they amended first year 1065 tax return after getting cost segregation accelerated depreciation, so we got the burden of an amended K-1 and amended our personal return, but that gave a 20K refund credit applied to our next year return (so was worth the trouble). Another deal on final year exit distribution they reported partner income by sending both a K-1 and 1099NEC, so we got Self Employment tax liability. I suspect sponsor's pushed some of their SE tax burden onto the LPs. I wasn't adequately prepared to put all that 1099NEC (earned income) into "deferred compensation" of our solo 401k when that occurred, shame on me, I learned my lesson but kick myself. I imagine other LPs not involved with their tax return preparation might have had worse tax issues.
